David D SanChez

    About David

    Artist's Bio

David Sanchez is a master potter from Flagstaff, Arizona. He has been refining his craft since high school in the early 80’s, and has studied under master artisans from across the world including Europe and Japan. He has studied at Wichita State, University of Kansas, and received his teaching credentials from Northern Arizona University. He taught Ceramics at Eastern Arizona College for 9 years. His art includes a juxtaposition of daring, ultra refined wheel-throwing techniques combined with a  Southwestern rustic aesthetic that draws from harnessing the mystique and capricious nature of basic minerals, clay, and elements derived from the earth, masterly manipulated, and then put into the inferno of an ultra high kiln firing, the results of which are totally one of a kind pieces of functional art.
